Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Some of our volunteer positions require musical knowledge, but many do not. Please feel free to volunteer in any way that meets your interests and talents. We are happy to have you as part of our team.

Volunteers are those who put the best interests of the campers and their physical and emotional safety above all else; who understand and believe in Rock Camp’s mission; who will show up at Camp every day, on time, and ready to participate; and who are willing to fully engage in serving the mission of the Camp and be truly present for the campers. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!


SUMMER CAMP 2011 VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
PHONE INTERVIEW

After we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule a phone interview. Phone interviews will be conducted in May-July. All applicants must be interviewed.

Confirmation: Upon receipt of your application you will be contacted to confirm your shifts and conduct a telephone interview.

Background Check: Because our work involves minors, we must conduct a background check.

Paper work and a note about computer/web access: During your volunteer training session you will asked to sign a Code of Conduct Agreement, Assumption of Risk, and Media Release. These documents will also be available by email. This saves us time and money! Let us know if you would rather that we send these important documents to you via email when we call.

Orientation and Training: There is a mandatory volunteer orientation and training session for 2 hours on August 2nd or on August 9th, the Sunday before your session starts. You must attend one of these sessions in order to volunteer for Rock Camp.

Our Location: New York City Rock Camp (NYCRC) Session One will be held at Prospect Heights High School at 833 Classon Ave, Brooklyn, NY. Session Two will be held at Curtis Estabrook Elementary School, 101-24 Seaview Avenue, Canarsie, Brooklyn. However, our office address is 287 Ocean Ave., Suite 3B, Brooklyn, NY 11225. Please use the Ocean Ave. address if you need to contact us by mail before camp.

Accommodations for out of town volunteers: We cannot provide travel expenses for out of town volunteers, however we will do our best to provide housing and meals. If you can provide your own housing please let us know immediately as that will enable other volunteers to join us. When you confirm your ability to volunteer with us, you will have a chance to request a host, and we’ll do our best to find one for you.
